To promote the innovative applications of science and technology in art, the Ministry of Culture has commissioned Dimension Plus (超維度互動有限公司) to spearhead the annual "Arts and Technology: Creative Innovation and Counseling Project (科技藝術實驗創新計畫)." This year's theme, "Sci-Fi Prototyping," emphasizes the feasibility of scientific and technological experimentations and innovative practices.
To explore the potential of combining art with technology, the Ministry of Culture has been investing resources to preserve various forms of Taiwan's culture and support the development of cross-sector creations, encouraging the integration of local art forms and current topics with technology and science. Additionally, through working with creative teams to manage innovative projects, the Ministry helps to further develop experimental ideas into works of art and exhibit them on the international stage.
Applicants must develop ideas inspired by science fiction literature and convert them into prototypes. Submissions can take the form of text, sound, video, object, installation, performance, and other interdisciplinary art mediums.
To create a truly experimental and innovative platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, Dimension Plus will be providing multimedia resources and technical guidance to maximize the impact of the ideas and further elevate the proposals into reality. Together with the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB), successful candidates will receive assistance to promote their works, enhance social dialogue, and partake in professional exchanges with various research bodies and groups.
