"Sing a Song: Taiwan in Sound,” a presentation on the historical sounds of Taiwan, is hosted by the National Museum of Taiwan History.

The National Museum of Taiwan History has established a digital database ― "Taiwan Audio in 100 Years” ― to collect and store the important video and audio data of Taiwan. "Taiwan in Sound” presents the unique oral history through visual and aural displays from the database.

Taiwanese sounds, including classic albums spanning from the 1950s to the 1980s, the first shellac records released by Taiwanese singers who recorded songs in Japan in 1914, and aboriginal ballads collected by Japanese anthropologist Asai Erin (淺井惠倫), are available for audio demos at the venue.

A collective of historic sounds such as speeches delivered by social activist Yang Zhao-jia (楊肇嘉) in the 1930s, the audio recordings of fighter jets and surveillance aircrafts during World War II, radio comedies, as well as TV and radio commercials, are also on display to reflect the lives of Taiwanese people in different generations.

Moreover, patriot songs and voices of underground radio broadcasting and social movements, which were forbidden by the government in the past, hold a special spot in the exhibition.
