'Taiwan Asean Music Action' and Malaysia's 'Roar Media' jointly launch 'Taiwan Zaoyin Bulei' radio program

The "Taiwan Asean Music Action" (2021臺灣獨立音樂馬來西亞平臺計畫:臺灣東協造音行動)," co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia and carried out by the Malaysian "Roar Media" group, will collaborate with Malaysia’s most listened Chinese-language radio station 988 to create a brand new program “Taiwan Zaoyin Bulei (臺灣造音不累)” that will last for two months starting from July 10 on every Saturday.

"Taiwan Zaoyin Bulei" will select 8 groups of outstanding Taiwanese singers and hold an exclusive interview with host DJ Alsen to discuss the experience of making music and the background of singers. It is hoped that those in Malaysia and Southeast Asia who love or are interested in learning about Taiwanese indie music will be able to experience Taiwanese new musical prowess. The popular and talented singers for include those shortlisted for the 32rd Golden Melody Awards this year. For July, interviewees will include One-Fang (萬芳), YELLOW Huang Hsuan (YELLOW黃宣), and deca joins.

One-Fang, known as the “soul singer” who has been in the career for 31 years, has always touched the hearts of her listeners. This year, she was nominated for the Golden Melody Award in the “Best Album Producer,” “Best Mandarin Album” and “Best Mandarin Female Singer” categories for her album “Dear All (給你們 Dear All)” in addition to others.

YELLOW Huang Hsuan, winner of the 30th Golden Melody Award for Best Single, was shortlisted in the “Arranger of the Year,” “Music Video of the Year,” “Best Song Producer,” and “Best New Artist” categories.

Deca joins, which was formed in 2013, is now one of Taiwan’s top bands, with its second album “Bird and Reflections” nominated for Band of the Year.

The "2021 Taiwan Asean Music Action" project is mainly dedicated to promoting Taiwan’s music in Southeast Asia. In addition to collecting information on independent music events and the music industry in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, it also organizes international music industry seminars and produces music programs with different media platforms in order to expose music fans to a wide array of Taiwanese music.
