Award-winning visual artist Page Tsou (鄒駿昇)'s solo exhibition "ONIRISMI Page Tsou Solo Exhibition (夢境:鄒駿昇個展)" will be set up in the spaces of Milan BASE as part of the Milan Design Week 2021, from Sep. 5 to 12.

The exhibition is a joint-effort between the Associazione Culturale NOI ALTRI and the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Italy. After its initial run, the exhibition will continue to be on display at the NOI Bookstore from Sep. 13 to Oct. 13.

The exhibition focuses on the concept of "dreaming," inspired by the abstract surrealism and exquisite style of painting and vibrant storyline shown in Tsou's works. In his pieces, Tsou connects the real world to that of imagination, poised between the dream and reality, which echo the design week's theme "A Future Observed from the Future."

Among the various works on display include one unpublished work, illustrations from "The And" series, the Bologna Children's Book Fair award-winning work "Dancing Feather (舞之羽)" as well as illustrations from "The Gift (禮物)," an art book Tsou published with the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.

Representative of the Cultural Division in Italy Teng Mei-jung (鄧美容) stated that the division was established in October last year, however the arts events were stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the gradual easing of the regulations, the division invited Tsou, whose illustration series "Invisible Bookstore (看不見的書店)" won recognition in the U.S., to hold his solo exhibition in Milan.

Tsou is a four-time nominee at the annual Bologna Children's Book Fair, winning the International Award for Illustration in 2011 and the Bologna Ragazzi Award in 2017. He has also curated the Taiwan Pavilion at the book fair.
