Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM) announced that the "Taipei Biennial 2020: You and I Don't Live on the Same Planet (2020年台北雙年展:你我不住在同一星球上)," which it hosted until March this year will be moved to Centre Pompidou-Metz in France in November, featuring the works of seven Taiwanese artists.

The seven artists will include Chang Yung-ta (張永達), Chen Yin-ju (陳瀅如), James T. Hong (洪子健), Huang Hai-hsin (黄海欣), Wu Yu-ling (武玉玲), Su Yu-hsin (蘇郁心) and Cemelesai Takivalet (峨塞.達給伐歷得).

With the exhibition space modeled after a "planetarium," the biennial aims to question our current ongoing geopolitical tensions and worsening ecological crisis by examining our differences and influences from a planetary perspective.

Director of the TFAM Wang Jun-jieh (王俊傑) pointed out that the "Taipei Biennial 2020" curated by the French philosopher Bruno Latour and the young French curator Martin Guinard, was the largest biennial set up by the TFAM. Featuring 78 works by 57 artists from 27 countries, the exhibition contains both unique and international perspectives.

Director Wang stated that despite being postponed for a while in 2020 due to COVID-19, the biennial still took place and attracted the attention of the global art scene.

He added that that Latour and Guinard are internationally renowned curators and maintain close ties with major venues in France. Centre Pompidou contacted TFAM to inform of their willingness to cooperate at the beginning of this year, and with assistance from the Ministry of Culture, the biennial in this rare format was made possible.

Artist Chang Yung-ta pointed out that although the "Taipei Biennale2020" concluded in Taiwan this year, he will continue his creative work in France with the special exhibition in the future.
