Guatemala-themed photography to greet Delaware

Artist Hsu Taini (徐黛妮) will hold a solo exhibition in Delaware to tell a photographic story of her travels in Guatemala this March.

Hsu, the founder and president of the Hanlin Chinese Cultural Association, has been instrumental in orchestrating tea ceremonies, exhibitions, and community events aimed at promoting cultural understanding between Taiwan and the United States.

Upon her visit to Guatemala in 2015, the colonial atmosphere and picturesque cityscapes captured her imagination. The ambiance, Mayan undertones, and vibrancy of the Central American nation became the perfect fodder for her lens.

In "Sensational Mind/Sensacinal Mente,” photography is neither landscape or portrait. Appearing as paintings, Hsu's photography is framed in way that offers both micro and macro perspectives.

In addition to the regular hours at Colourworks, the 17-photograph collection will be open from 5.30pm to 8pm on the first Friday of March, April, and May as part of "Art Loop Wilmington,” a free and self-guided public art program.
