The Ministry of Culture’s “Cultural Tour: Theaters at Villages (文化平權巡演-庄頭劇場 藝日限定)” staged a series of performances at the Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park in Yilan County on June 1. The event featured the renowned Ju Percussion Group’s (朱宗慶打擊樂團) performance “MuLan (木蘭)” as the main show.
“MuLan,” based on the eponymous Chinese legend, reinterprets the story with contemporary percussion and traditional Peking opera elements. Since its debut in 2010, it has been performed publicly 60 times. This event marked the first outdoor performance of “MuLan.”
The event also showcased performances from local performing art groups, including Zi Yuan Theater (紫園戲劇), Puppet and Its Double (無獨有偶工作室劇團), A Root (同根生), Gui Zhi Theater (龜之劇場), Thunar Circus (圓劇團), and Makapahay (瑪嘎巴嗨), offering a diverse array of traditional and modern cultural performances to the audience.
