The Ministry of Culture (MOC) will bring nine performing arts groups from Taiwan to renowned international arts festivals in Europe in July and August, including the Festival Off Avignon, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Düsseldorf’s Internationale Tanzmesse, showcasing Taiwan’s outstanding artistic talents on the international stage.
The Festival Off Avignon will take place from July 3 to 21 in France, featuring four groups: Eye Catching Circus (創造焦點), Shinehouse Theatre (曉劇場), Resident Island Dance Theatre (滯留島舞蹈劇場), and Chun Dance (君舞蹈劇場).
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s Taiwan Season, running from Aug. 2 to 26 in Scotland, will showcase performances by Bon Appétit Theatre (嚐劇場), Seed Dance (種子舞團), D_Antidote Production (身體處方), and 0471 Acro Physical Theatre (0471特技肢體劇場).
At Düsseldorf’s Internationale Tanzmesse, taking place from Aug. 28 to 31 in Germany, Taiwan Move!, an initiative by the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), will highlight 20 artistic creations at its pavilion. Additionally, independent artist Yu Yen-fang’s (余彥芳) performance, “Propositions on Disappearance III (關於消失的幾個提議Ⅲ),” has been selected for the official program.
