The National Center for Traditional Arts (NCFTA) launched two initiatives, namely, “Go Young - Traditional Arts Tour (傳藝Go Young校園巡演)” and “Taiwanese Opera for Children (兒童歌仔戲—親子劇場匯演),” on July 10. Through these initiatives, a series of programs will be implemented to enhance Taiwanese opera education among children and nurture young talent in the tradition.
The Ministry of Culture emphasized that these initiatives focus on school engagements and outdoor performances, aiming to provide more opportunities for children to experience and appreciate Taiwanese opera. Furthermore, the ministry assists in connecting Taiwanese opera groups with playwrights and musicians to develop performances tailored for children.
The NCFTA highlighted that a total of 22 groups have been selected to perform at 220 schools across the island from July to November, including 70 schools in rural areas. The tour is expected to reach 22,000 young students.
