The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) inaugurated the 2024 Taiwan International Print Biennial and held its award ceremony on July 27. This year, the Biennial received 1,512 submissions from 82 countries, with 15 outstanding works were selected for awards.
Established in 1983, the Taiwan International Print Biennial (former International Biennial Print Exhibit R.O.C.) is one of the longest running international print exhibitions in the world today. The mission of the event is to promote international cultural exchange, and to strengthen the mutual understanding of artistic values between the East and the West.
The NTMoFA reported an increase in submissions from three participating countries compared to the previous edition, as well as approximately 200 more applications overall.
The top prizes – gold, silver, and bronze – were awarded to Hiroya Yasukochi (安河内裕也) from Japan, Patipon Supanpong from Thailand, and Shogo Muto (武藤正悟) from Japan, respectively.
The NTMoFA is hosting the 2024 Taiwan International Print Biennial exhibition now until Oct. 13, showcasing the works of the finalists. For more information, go to the NTMoFA’s website.
