MOC to host Creative Expo Taiwan in Tainan City for the first time

The Ministry of Culture (MOC) held a media event on Aug. 5 to introduce the main theme of the 2024 Creative Expo Taiwan, which will be hosted in Tainan City. In addition, the curatorial team unveiled the exhibition zones across the region.

Deputy Minister of Culture Sue Wang (王時思) noted that this year marks the first time the Creative Expo Taiwan will take place in the ancient capital. She said that this year’s theme, “pó-tó pah-bīn (寶島百面)”, meaning “hundred faces of the treasure island,” aims to represent Taiwan’s multiculturalism and inclusivity.

The expo chief curator Natasha Lo (羅健毓) elaborated on his curatorial concept, saying the expo aims to reflect Tainan’s multifaceted history through field investigations, interviews, and creative performances. She added that the city in southern Taiwan is the best place for people to delve into history.

The 2024 Creative Expo Taiwan will open from Aug. 23 to Sept. 1 in Tainan. For more information, visit the Expo’s official website or their Facebook page.
