Minister Li reveals plans to foster Taiwan-Japan art and cultural exchange

Culture Minister Li Yuan embarked on a 4-day trip to Japan from Sept. 4 to 7. On Sept. 6, Minister Li visited the Mori Art Museum and the Kadokawa Culture Museum, announcing a collaboration with Roppongi Art Night 2024, scheduled to take place from Sept. 27 to 29, featuring Taiwanese artists in the RAN Focus program. He also revealed a Taiwanese comics exhibition at the Kadokawa Culture Museum from Oct. 14 to 27.

 

Minister Li highlighted that the Ministry of Culture (MOC) will participate in next year’s Osaka Expo, hosting a series of cultural and artistic events centered to showcase Taiwan’s culture through cultural technology, performing and visual arts, and art markets.

 

In the evening of Sept. 6, Minister Li engaged with the Yokohama Arts Foundation and announced Taiwan’s first participation in the Yokohama Jazz Festival 2025, the largest jazz festival in Japan.

 

On Sept. 7, the final day of his trip, Minister Li visited the Miraikan – The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo, where he emphasized the importance of establishing the National Children’s Future Museum in Taiwan to promote a balanced future between technology and the natural environment.
