The Bureau of Cultural Heritage (BOCH) hosted the National Day for Cultural Heritage 2024 event at the Taiwan Contemporary Cultural Lab on Sept. 21 and 22, bringing together 22 cities and counties to present a “National Cultural Heritage Expo.”
In his opening speech, Culture Minister Li Yuan highlighted that, through the Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program, the ministry has been supporting cultural development and enhancing cultural engagement via the Regeneration of Historic Sites initiative, which aims to preserve history and collective memories.
Chen Chi-ming (陳濟民), director of the BOCH, stated that this event, featuring a diverse array of heritage-related activities, underscores the importance of cultural heritage and connects it more closely with the public.
In line with the European Heritage Days theme of “Routes, Networks, and Connections,” the BOCH has also designed walking paths at 1,235 locations across the island, inviting people to explore cultural sites and forming a grand cultural network.
