ICAMT 50th Annual Conference concludes in Taipei

The closing ceremony of the International Committee for Architecture and Museum Techniques (ICAMT) 50th Annual Conference took place at the National Palace Museum in Taipei on Oct. 10. During the event, ICAMT Chair Nana Meparishvili presented the “ICAMT 50 TAIWAN Collective Discourses,” summarizing key insights gathered over the four-day conference.

Themed “Encountering Transition: Reshaping Museum Architecture, Exhibition Design and Techniques in Response to Global/Local Changes,” the conference was attended by museum experts and scholars from 17 countries. Participants engaged in discussions centered on three subthemes: “Cross-Cultural Museum Architecture,” “Exhibition Design – tangible, intangible and digital: current tendencies,” and “Museum Techniques & Sustainability.”

Meparishvili emphasized that ICAMT was established to foster interaction between Eastern and Western museum professionals. She noted the unique experience of foreign participants, who were deeply impressed by the warmth and respect of the Taiwanese people.

Culture Minister Li Yuan remarked that hosting the first ICAMT conference in Asia was a great honor for Taiwan, and that it helped strengthen ties between Taiwan’s museums and the global museum community.
