MOC launches a series of activities in October to celebrate Taiwan Culture Day

Celebrating Taiwan Culture Day on Oct. 17, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) launched a series of activities under the theme “New Taiwan Cultural Movement in the 21th Century.”

At a press conference of the rehearsal of the musical show “Daughter of Nectar – A Marble Metamorphosis (土水-臺灣初露),” Culture Minister Li Yuan noted the lasting impact of the late sculptor Huang Tu-shui (黃土水), central figure of the show, who deeply influenced Taiwan’s art and culture even a century later. The show will take place on Oct. 19 and 20 at the National Center for Traditional Arts.

Additionally, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra was invited to perform at the Wufeng Lin Family Garden in Taichung City, on the same day. The concert featured students from Sanwan Elementary School, Miaoli County, and the Taichung Municipal Wu-Feng Junior High School.

In collaboration with government institutions and non-governmental organizations, MOC is also hosting various activities across the country throughout October, inviting the public to explore and experience Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage.
