Taiwanese illustrator Ballboss’s picture book “Perhaps Trees Remember (樹可能記得),” published by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL) in both Mandarin and Taigi, stood out among 21,870 submissions and was selected as one of the featured works at the Illustrators Exhibition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
In 2024, Ballboss was invited by the NMTL to lead a project documenting the history of the historic settlements in Qidong Street (齊東街) in Taipei, home to the Taiwan Literature Base. In Dec. 2024, he created “Perhaps Trees Remember,” preserving local culture and history through illustration.
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Illustration at Kingston School of Art in the U.K., Ballboss is a multifaceted creator who tells stories through illustration, theater, and art curation. He received the Cultural and Creative Award from the Ministry of Culture in both 2016 and 2017 and has been featured twice at the Illustrators Exhibition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, in 2019 and 2022.
Founded in 1967, the Illustrators Exhibition serves as a global platform for discovering new talents and has been accompanying the evolution of the world of illustration for decades.
For the 2025 edition, a total of 4,374 illustrators applied for the 2025 Illustrators Exhibition, submitting 21,870 artworks from 89 countries and regions worldwide.
