Taipei Fashion Week AW25 creates trends for sustainable future

The Taipei Fashion Week AW25 opened on Mar. 27 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, showcasing the fashion industry’s commitment to sustainable development through the theme “Endless Fashion.”

At the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture Li Yuan carried a souvenir bag made of Taiwan’s recycled pineapple leaf fiber. He noted that while sustainability and fashion may seem incompatible, the Taipei Fashion Week—Asia’s first fashion event to emphasize sustainable living—promotes sustainability across the entire fashion cycle, from materials and production to the final product.

The Ministry of Culture highlighted Taiwan’s proactive approach to addressing climate change, bringing together top designers and fabric producers to foster a greener environment and advance environmental awareness.

The opening show featured six collaborations between Taiwanese fashion designers and fabric brands, including Claudia Wang and Li Peng Enterprise (力鵬企業股份有限公司), DYC TEAM and Far Eastern New Century (遠東新世紀股份有限公司), Gioia Pan and Kingwhale (菁華工業股份有限公司), oqLiq and Shinkong Textile (新光紡織股份有限公司), UUIN and New Wide Group (旭寬企業股份有限公司), and Weavism (織本主義) and Hermin Textile (和明紡織股份有限公司).
