To celebrate the World Book and Copyright Day on Apr. 23, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) has launched “2025 Let’s Go Reading” event, which is running from Apr. 19 to 27 at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) in Taipei. Over the course of nine days, a series of activities—including book exhibitions, theater performances, and workshops—is taking place.
At the event, Minister of Culture Li Yuan announced that, to promote reading nationwide, the MOC will host the first International Children and Youth Book Exhibition in Taichung City later this year. This annual event will rotate among different cities in the future.
Additionally, Minister Li shared the ministry’s plan to establish the Golden Picture Book Award, aimed at encouraging picture book creation in Taiwan.
The “2025 Let’s Go Reading” event features 100 selected books for children and youth, accompanied by a range of performances, interactive exhibitions, and storytelling sessions designed to foster a love of reading among young audiences.
Furthermore, the event includes a weekend book fair held over two weekends, featuring 20 unique bookstores and cultural brands. The fair blends books, art, and cuisine to create a vibrant and educational experience.
