In response to the Cabinet’s approval of post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction plans for Hualien County, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) announced on May 21 cultural revitalization and relief measures through the Culture Points program. The ministry is launching Hualien-exclusive 1200 Culture Points to encourage youths to travel to the area for cultural events during the upcoming summer vacation.
The MOC stated that eligible recipients, aged 16 to 22 (born between Jan. 1, 2002, and Dec. 31, 2008), can redeem 1200 points at designated locations in Hualien upon identity verification. The points can be used for book purchases, films and performance admissions, cultural trips, and other activities.
The MOC noted that this round of Culture Points redemption will start on June 8 and end on Dec. 31, expecting to attract over 16,000 participants to engage in cultural experiences in Hualien, thereby aiding rejuvenation of Hualien’s business sector.
Currently, there are more than 176 designated vendors for Culture Points in Hualien. To become a vendor, apply at: https://stcp.moc.gov.tw.
To extend the invitation to more Hualien business owners, the MOC will host two seminars on May 31 and June 7 in Hualien to help vendors understand how the Culture Points program works. Information about the seminars is available at: https://seminars.tca.org.tw/D15o01768.aspx.
