On Aug. 12, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) announced the winners of the 2024 Golden Tripod Awards for Publications (GTA). This year, the award received 1,403 submissions, with 33 works being recognized as winners. Additionally, Li Hsien-wen (李賢文), the founder of the monthly magazine “Lion Art (雄獅美術)”, was honored with the Special Contribution award.
The judging panel highlighted that since the establishment of the “Lion Art” in 1971, Li has published over 300 issues of art magazines and more than 400 volumes of books. Furthermore, prior to the opening of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and without government support, Li initiated several awards to promote art education, including the Lion Art Awards New Artists Prize, the Lion Arts Biennial, and the Lion Arts Fine Arts Creation Awards.
To promote GTA, the MOC will collaborate with schools, libraries, and bookstores to organize book exhibitions and author talks for the public to participate. For more information, visit the GTA’s website, Facebook page, or Youtube channel.
