MOC opens Vision Pavilion of the National Children’s Future Museum

Before the completion of the National Children’s Future Museum (NCFM) in 2030, located in the Xinban Special District of New Taipei City, the Ministry of Culture inaugurated its Vision Pavilion on May 24. At the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture Li Yuan remarked that although the Vision Pavilion is small in size, the ministry is committed to create greater future for the nation’s children.

In addition to Minister Li Yuan, the event was attended by Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰), Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) of New Taipei City, advisor Jessica Harvey of the National Children’s Museum in the U.S., and other distinguished guests.

Premier Cho emphasized that the NCFM is intended to elevate children’s autonomy and public participation to a new level. He expressed hope that the museum’s development will keep pace with societal changes and that it will become a place visited and enjoyed by both children and adults.

Minister Li also shared that the Ministry of Culture aims to open the NCFM as soon as possible, which is why an existing building was repurposed as the Vision Pavilion. He noted that the Vision Pavilion allows children to imagine and engage in the museum’s design process.

Advisor Jessica Harvey expressed her hope that the museum will foster children’s curiosity and critical thinking while empowering future generations.
