The Taiwan Literature Base in Taipei is hosting an exhibition in commemoration of Franz Kafka (1883-1924), a German-language writer from Prague. The exhibition, marking the 100th anniversary of Kafka’s death in 1924, runs until Oct. 13
During the opening ceremony on Sept. 14, Director Chen Ying-fang (陳瑩芳) of the National Museum of Taiwan (NMTL) highlighted that this exhibition features artists from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Taiwan, presenting Kafka’s works through a variety of cross-disciplinary art forms, including coffee, dance, virtual reality (VR), and comics.
The NMTL noted that Kafka is regarded as one of the most influential authors of the 20th century. His impact extends beyond literature into other artistic mediums, resonating deeply with creators in Taiwan. This exhibition is co-organized by the NMTL, the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, the Czech Center Taipei, the German Institute Taipei, and the Goethe-Institut Taipei.
