The National Museum of History (NMH) presents the Masters of Art special exhibition series, centered on the theme “Our Shared History, the Masters Who Made It (大家的歷史・歷史的大家).” The series launched on Apr. 3 with “Across Generations: Solo Exhibition of Zai-Qian Lee (穿越世代-李再鈐個展)” and “Li Chi-mao: Centennial Memorial Art Exhibition (李奇茂百年展).”

This series explore the intersection of art and history, as its title indicates that “大家,” meaning “everyone” or “master” in Mandarin, not only symbolizes the collective historical memory of the people, but also refers to the influential figures who have left indelible marks on the world of art.

Zai-Qian Lee (李再鈐) is a master artist whose career spans different centuries and provides a commentary on the times from his own unique perspective. “Across Generations: Solo Exhibition of Zai-Qian Lee (穿越世代-李再鈐個展)” not only showcases his lifelong creative journey but also his tireless pursuit of the arts.

“Li Chi-mao: Centennial Memorial Art Exhibition” features 69 works by the prominent Taiwanese ink wash painter Li Chi-mao (李奇茂). Li combined traditional ink wash techniques with Western sketching, infusing his works with vivid characters and dynamic movement. In addition to his well-known pieces, the exhibition also includes several works never before shown to the public.

Both exhibitions are on view through June 8. For more information, visit NMH official website and Facebook page
