NTMoFA and Centre Pompidou co-presents ‘Of Anarchy in Music’

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA), in collaboration with France’s National Museum of Modern Art – Centre Pompidou, hosts the exhibition “Of Anarchy in Music: More Journeys in Sound (無序樂章:聲音藝術之旅),” featuring works by artists from Taiwan and around the world.

Curated by Marcella Lista, chief curator at the Centre Pompidou, the exhibition offers an encounter between works from the New Media collection of the National Museum of Modern Art - Centre Pompidou and works by artists from Taiwan and its neighbors in the Asian region. The approximately thirty works gathered showcase pivotal experiences from the past twenty years at the crossroads of experimental music, sound installation, audiovisual composition, sonic environment, and acoustic performance.

Divided into eight sections, the exhibition centers around questions raised by the medium of sound. Participating artists include Bill Fontana, Christian Marclay, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Yuko Mohri, and Taiwanese artists Wang Fu-jui (王福瑞), Jao Chia-en (饒加恩), Wang Chung-kun (王仲堃), Lin Chi-wei (林其蔚), and Wang Hong-kai (王虹凱), among others.

“Of Anarchy in Music: More Journeys in Sound” runs until Jul. 6. For more information, visit the NTMoFA official website
