The exhibition “Dimension Blooming: Taiwan Academy of Fine Art Annual Exhibition” was inaugurated at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall on Apr. 12. Minister of Culture Li Yuan, Central News Agency Chairman Le Yung-te (李永得), Culture and Arts Foundation of Taiwan Academy of Fine Arts Chairman Liao Hsiu-ping (廖修平), Taiwan Academy of Fine Arts President Su Hsien-fa (蘇憲法), and other distinguished guests attended the opening press conference.
Minister Li noted that since the Ministry of Culture (MOC) launched the “Reconstruction of Taiwan’s Art History” project in 2018, the ministry has worked closely with both the public and private sectors to nourish, conserve, and promote Taiwanese culture by reviving memories in the nation’s art history. He added that, this year’s “Reconstruction of Taiwan’s Art History 2.0” continues to support the collection, research, and promotion of the history of Taiwan’s art, music, literature, and others, as well as the preparation for the establishment of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Tainan. In addition, the ministry also aims to enrich Taiwan’s artificial intelligence content with the version 2.0 of the project’s findings, added the Minister.
President Su emphasized that since its establishment in 2010, the Taiwan Academy of Fine Arts has been committed to promoting art creation and research. The Academy also plays an active role in the “Reconstruction of Taiwan’s Art History” project. The year’s exhibition features works by 40 Academy fellows, showcasing the richness and diversity of Taiwan’s artistic traditions.
The exhibition runs through May 6. For more information, visit the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall official website.
