ART TAIPEI, the longest running art fair in Asia, kicked off on Oct. 20 in Taipei with an emphasis on 'Asian Vision' and the return of large galleries and private museums as the leaders of contemporary Asian art trends.

Tsai Pei-huo was an activist who strove for Taiwanese people's autonomy during the Japanese colonial period. He helped promote freedom of association and speech, and composed more than 30 songs to advocate democracy and Taiwanese identity.
