In honor of Taiwan Heritage Days, which are being celebrated on Sept. 21 and 22 this year, city and county governments across the nation will unveil a series of public activities this weekend to raise awareness of the importance of Taiwan's monuments and heritage sites.
The 2019 Taiwan International Deaf Film Festival has invited Maisie Sly, a young deaf girl who was the star of the Oscar-winning live short action film "The Silent Child," and her father Gilson Sly to visit Taiwan to share their experiences and discuss the future of linguistic education for children living with hearing disabilities.
Lu Shao-chia is a Taiwanese conductor who excels at directing concerts and operas. Under his leadership, the National Symphony Orchestra's performances were widely received by audiences at home and abroad. The orchestra also succeeded in elevating its status in the international arena.
Established in 2018, the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab aims to forge a new ecosystem for cultural innovation, to promote artistic experimentation and social innovation, and to provide the public with a unique experience exploring the future of culture.
