The Taiwan Sound Lab — a joint venture by the Ministry of Culture and the Paris-based acoustics institute IRCAM — was formally launched in Taipei on Nov. 21, marking the start of an eight-year exploration of sound between Taiwan and France.

Ruan Guang-min is an award-winning manga artist whose works have received recognition for their detailed portrayal of stories and characters inspired by Taiwan. His "Dong-Huachun Barbershop" is the first original Taiwanese comic to be adapted to TV drama.
