To ensure equal cultural rights, Ministry of Culture issues paper version 'Arts Fun Go' vouchers

In order to stimulate spending on arts and culture, in July the Ministry of Culture launched the first round of digital "Arts Fun Go" vouchers. At the same time, the Ministry also announced that the second round would be focused on underprivileged groups less likely to have smartphones, such as the elderly, minors, and those with physical or mental disabilities, coordinating the issuing of paper version vouchers with the four major convenience store chains.

On Aug. 24, the ministry held a press conference to announce the launch of these paper version vouchers, with Minister of Culture Lee Yung-te, singer Hsiao Huang-chi, and representatives from the four convenience stores on hand, along with representatives from several social welfare organizations. At the conference, it was announced that registrations for the vouchers would be open online and through the convenience stores from August 31 through September 6, with 600,000 lucky recipients announced on September 8.

Those registering for paper version "Arts Fun Go" vouchers must not have previously received digital vouchers, must either be 65 or over (born on or before December 31, 1955) or 18 or under (born on or after January 1, 2002), or hold a Disability Certification. Those eligible may take their National Health Insurance Card to 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, or OK stores between 9am and 9pm, August 31 through September 6, and go through the five-step registration process through the in-store kiosks.

Those who won the paper vouchers in a live lottery drawing will be able to claim them by taking their NHI Card to one of the aforementioned four convenience stores between 9am and 9pm from September 9, receiving a booklet of vouchers with QR codes or barcodes, one each for NT$100, NT$200, and NT$300. The Ministry of Culture has specifically stated that the "Arts Fun Go" vouchers are limited to one per person and can only be used once. Those that are damaged cannot be replaced, and they will be valid for use between September 9, 2020, and February 28, 2021.
