'2021 Tibetan Culture and Art Festival Taiwan' to convey the beauty of Tibetan culture and religion

The annual "Tibetan Culture and Art Festival Taiwan" hosted by the Ministry of Culture will be launched on Nov. 5 this year, featuring new exciting activities such as "Tibetan kora (藏音天路)" and "Sand Mandala Art Exhibition (沙壇城藝術展演)" to convey the unique charm of Tibetan culture.

The Ministry of Culture stated that Taiwan’s culture is diverse, open and tolerant, and ethnic groups gather in this land to enjoy shared prosperity, and bring about a variety of rich religious and cultural festivals. Now in its seventh edition, the "Tibetan Culture and Art Festival Taiwan" has developed into a Tibetan cultural festival with characteristics unique to Taiwan.

The highlight of the festival "Tibetan kora" will feature a grand performance with Tibetan cultural elements delivered by U-Theatre Taiwan (優人神鼓) at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on Nov. 5 and 6.

Through the mountain pilgrimage, the Tibetan people's life philosophy, religious beliefs and cultural core are explored, and with the addition of Taiwan’s unique culture of Taiwan, it highlights the interplay between Taiwan and Tibetan culture.

The Ministry of Culture noted that tickets for "Tibetan kora" performance is available for free online starting on Oct. 20. On-site tickets will be available on at the Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center (蒙藏文化館) starting on Oct. 23. The "A universe in a Grain of Sand ~ Sand Mandala Art Exhibition," which consists of five separate sessions, will take place later from Dec. 28 to 30 this year.
