Originally scheduled to be held last year, the "2021-2022 National Cultural Congress (全國文化會議)" was postponed due to the pandemic. This year, it will be held in a hybrid format on May 28 and 29, with delegates attending virtually and in person at the Taipei International Convention Center.
According to the Ministry of Culture, the conference revolves around the theme of "Culture is Endless (文化，生生不息)." Combining two aspects of "Culture and Lifestyle" and "Culture and Production," four regional forums and six expert forums were held between October and November last year. Through public participation and in-depth discussions, the forums collected opinions from all walks of life. Furthermore, in response to the conclusions of the ten forums, more than 20 meetings were held to discuss with experts in various fields to provide feasible policy recommendations for solving industrial problems.
"2021-2022 National Cultural Congress" will focus on four major themes of regional forums, including "Strengthening Local Culture and History," "Translating and Application of Taiwanese Cultural Values," "Promoting cultural cross-domain and international cooperation," and "Youth participation and Cultural Equality." Additionally, it will also discuss the policy recommendations in six areas from the expert forums, ranging from the film and television industry, exhibition industry and art development, IP content industry, and cultural digital communication and technology application.
The conference will conclude with a summary and response to the policy recommendations while revealing the future direction of cultural policy.
