The 2022 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) will be held physically at the Taipei World Trade Center and online from June 2 to 7 under the main theme of "Reading & Publishing beyond the Pandemic."
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Taipei Book Fair Foundation (TBFF), the book fair will celebrate its 30th anniversary with Golden Melody Award winner Abao (阿爆) and Golden Horse Award winner Morning Mo (莫子儀) assigned as the ambassador of the event. This year, the online book exhibition is divided into different themes including "Themed Exhibition", "Book Presentation", "Book Show", and "Guest of Honor," and six thematic pavilions along with a series of activities will be launched at the physical book fair.
A special exhibition titled "HELLO 30!" is planned as part of the book fair, displaying 15 colorful capsules that contain memorial items as a way to reminisce the previous book fairs. Several cultural figures and creators from various fields are also invited to share their stories, demonstrating the significance of intergenerational exchange and heritage.
There will also be a pavilion that is specially designed for families with children. By combining multimedia interaction with a nature theme, it introduces the diversity of Taiwan's landscape as well as animal and plant species. In addition, over 600 selected books and a video guide will be available for parents to choose the best books for their children. The public can also choose to participate in online exhibitions and lectures.
Amid the ongoing pandemic, MOC and TBFF will execute preventive measures at the physical book fair. To attract more readers to purchase books, MOC will launch a coupon program to distribute 200,000 coupons during the book fair, with each coupon valued at NT$100. The coupon is available to anyone who either purchased a ticket or entered the book fair for free. At the same time, visitors who spend at least NT$1000 will be eligible to redeem two additional coupons that are valued at NT$100 each. For more information, please visit TIBE's website.
