2022 Creative Expo Taiwan to kick off in Aug, highlighting Taiwan's unique culture

2022 Creative Expo Taiwan (CET), the largest cultural and creative expo in Asia, will kick off on Aug. 5 in Kaohsiung. The Ministry of Culture and Taiwan Design Research Institute announced the theme "Resonance Island (群島共振)" and key visual of this year's expo on July 19, while revealing the curatorial team which includes architect Kung Shu-chang (龔書章), who serves as the chief curatorial consultant; Lin Kun-ying (林昆穎), the co-founder of Luxury Logico, assumes the role of chief curator; and visual director of YEN Design Yen Po-chun (顏伯駿), who is responsible for the key visual of the expo.

Chief curatorial consultant Kung pointed out that the 2022 edition aims to respond to four key issues including the integration of cultural and creative industries; the relationship between cultural content, technology energy, and commercial experience; and the concept of urban curation and cultural carriers.

In her speech, Deputy Minister of Culture Lee Ching-hwi (李靜慧) stated that this is the first time that CET is held outside Taipei, and with the theme of "Resonance Island," we will be able to better perceive the landscape of Taiwan as a maritime nation. Also, Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Shih Che (史哲) said that the City Government will actively participate in the expo by launching a series of programs.

Since its inception in 2010, Creative Expo Taiwan has gradually incorporated the cultural concept into curation and moved towards curating in the form of in-depth issues, so as to present a clear and precise thematic discussion of cultural content. 2022 Creative Expo Taiwan will be held at Kaohsiung Music Center from Aug. 5 through 14 and Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from Aug. 10 through 14.
