Shortlist announced for 2022 Television Golden Bell Awards

The nominees for the 57th Golden Bell Awards (GBA) in the television category were announced at a press conference on Sep. 7 at the Sanlih Cultural and Creative Theatre.


According to the Ministry of Culture (MOC), 140 companies and 1,976 works registered to compete in GBA's television category this year. After three months of review and discussion, the judging committee and its leader Chen Hui-ling (陳慧玲) selected 244 finalists to contend for a total of 48 awards. The Special Contribution Awards recipients this year are TV producer Chen Chun-tian (陳君天) and entertainer Chang Chung-jung (張宗榮).


The nominees for the newly added categories, including Best Make-up, Best Visual Effects, Best Score, and Best Main Theme, were announced by Deputy Minister of Culture Lee Ching-hwi (李靜慧); the nominated works for Best Television Series, Best Miniseries, and Best Television Film were revealed by Chen Hui-ling.


MOC stated that audience voting is introduced to GBA this year. Viewers are welcome to vote for the Most Popular TV Series and Most Popular Variety Show at GBA's official website.


The 2022 Television Golden Bell Awards ceremony for the TV program and drama series will be held on Oct. 21 and 22 at National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Television audiences in Taiwan can watch the live stream on the channels of SET Metro, SET Drama (MOD), and PTS, while overseas viewers can enjoy the ceremony event on SET International, Singapore’s StarHub, ETTV America, and Malaysia’s Unifi TV. Live streams are also available on media platforms including the GBA official website, the GBA YouTube channel, MOC Facebook page, Vidol, Vidol YouTube, SET News channel, Hami Video, LINE TODAY, LINE TV, and Yahoo TV.
