2023 Taipei International Book Exhibition concludes successfully

The 31st edition of the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TiBE) closed on Feb. 5 with great success. The six-day event was attended by 470 exhibitors from 33 countries and attracted over 505,000 visitors participating in the talks, panel discussions, workshops, and meetings. Those present at the closing ceremony included Culture Minister Shih Che, Director of the Polish Office in Taipei Cyryl Kozaczewski, Director of the Polish Book Institute Dariusz Jaworski, Chairperson of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation Isabella Yunyi Wu (吳韻儀) and more.


Minister Shih addressed the closing ceremony and described this year's TiBE as "a grand cultural reunion." He added that the turnout was nearly twice as high as last year while activities increased by 62%, and expressed his gratitude towards the participants of the exhibition.


Chairperson of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation Wu said the growth of visits and sales figures are a huge encouragement to the publishing industry. To Wu, 2023 TiBE is not only a book fair but also a cultural exchange festival.


As the Guest of Honor country of this year's exhibition, the country pavilion of Poland in TiBE presented literature, music and cuisine to showcase the diversity of Poland. Director of the Polish Office in Taipei Cyryl Kozaczewski said he is looking forward to more bilateral exchanges in the future.


Director of the Polish Book Institute Dariusz Jaworski mentioned the friendliness of the Taiwanese left a deep impression and he is grateful to have the opportunity to introduce Polish literature and culture to Taiwan.


The 31st Taipei International Book Exhibition, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and organized by the Taipei Book Fair Foundation, took place from Jan. 31 to Feb. 5 at Hall 1, Taipei World Trade Center.
