The International Youth Orchestra Camp presented by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (hereafter referred to as "NTSO”) offers an invigorating environment for outstanding young musicians to take lessons from professional musicians and sought-after teachers, and to participate in youth orchestra performances at major concert halls.
All faculty members are renowned musicians from elite conservatories and orchestras around the world. Students will receive the chance to participate in private one-on-one instructions, orchestral training, and public master classes during the youth camp.
After completion of lessons and rehearsals in the camp, the international youth orchestra is scheduled to perform concerts in Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Taipei from July 22nd to 24th, 2017.
All camp participants will be housed in the Classic Delight Hotel on Wu-Feng campus. All rooms are air-conditioned, and all meals are included.
All camp participants are eligible for private, individualized lessons. Other activities include orchestral rehearsals, sectional coach, conducting (elective), chamber music, lectures, master classes, faculty concerts, and cultural and sightseeing trips.
How to Apply
Advanced musical training is a prerequisite. Applicants born between 1994 and 2003 - including foreign nationals and oversea Taiwanese students - may apply. Auditions will take place live in person (in Taiwan) or via video. Each applicant will be notified of his or her audition result after the audition process is complete.

Admitted students will be announced on the NTSO website before May 15th, 2017, and will be notified by e-mail and/or mail.
Instruments for Audition
*The NTSO judge panel reserves the right to adjust the number of musicians admitted.
NT$10,000. (The tuition will be payable in cash upon arrival at the camp site.) The tuition covers hotel lodging, meals, rehearsal and lesson facilities, sightseeing trips, private lessons, travel insurance, transportation between concert venues, and administrative fees.
However, the student is responsible for travel to and from the Taichung campus.
