The human interaction with its surroundings and the impact of culture on levels of environmental awareness will be discussed in an international forum jointly organized by Taiwanese and German experts.
Themed "Energy & Cultural Life,” the 2015 European Forum spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture and Goethe-Institut Taipei will take place at the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance on Oct. 20.
The inaugural forum will discuss such topics as the development of energy and culture against the backdrop of climate change, cultural initiatives that can foster a low-carbon economy, and the art of living under a sustainable framework.
Esteemed German speakers will include Christof Mauch, director of the Munich-based Rachel Carson Centre for Environment and Society; and Anna K. Meyer, an environmental consultant specializing in renewable energy, sustainable production, and green economy.
Professors Yuan Yi-mond (苑倚曼) from Tamkang University, Gao Ming-zhi (高銘志) from the National Tsing Hua University, and Dr. Wang Yu-juin (王瑜君) from the Taipei Medical University will join in the discussion from a Taiwanese perspective.
