"Rever la Terre,” a cooperative project organized by the Taiwan Photo Museum, French academic group TK-21, and art curators from both countries, is a meaningful international photographic art exchange activity to be held concurrently in Paris and Taipei throughout November.
The participating art curators from Taiwan are art critics Chang Chung-liang (張仲良)and Sun Wei-hsun (孫維瑄), and their counterparts in Paris are Martial Verdier and Jean-Louis Poitevin, while TK-21 is a French team organized by artists, professors, philosophers, and art critics who often sponsor lectures and international activities at various galleries and literary spaces.
Six French contemporary artists will visit Taipei and have their works exhibited at the Contemporary French Pavilion of the Taipei Art Photo Show, followed by two Taiwanese exhibitions in Paris, which will feature Lee Ming-diao (李鳴鵰), Kuo Ying-sheng (郭英聲), Chuang Ling (莊靈), Chuan Huei-hwa (全會華), Chiang Ssu-hsien (江思賢), Lu Liang-yeavn (呂良遠), Hung Shih-tsong (洪世聰), Huang Hwa-an (黃華安), Huang Wen-yong (黃文勇), Chang Hong-sheng (張宏聲), and Chang Chung-liang (張仲良).
On the theme of "Paysage,” meaning "landscape,” this exchange project connects the performance of Taiwanese and French artists in different aspects. The addition of works by senior Taiwanese artist Lee Ming-diao (李鳴鵰) and renowned Taiwanese photographers Chuang Ling (莊靈) and Kuo Ying-sheng (郭英聲) will also demonstrate the rich humanity of traditional and modern Taiwan.
The two Parisian exhibitions are also timed to coincide with the biennial Mois de la Photo 2014, in the hope of enhancing the international visibility of Taiwanese photographic art, increasing cultural exchange opportunities, and laying the foundation for future participation in other major photographic art events in France.
