With the full support of PremierJiang Yi-huah, the Ministry of Culture's budget for the year 2015 has been raised to NT$17 billion (US$560.74 million), representing a 3.1% increase from NT$16.5 billion in 2014.
Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai stated that although the Ministry of Culture's budget is ranked the lowest out of the R.O.C. central government's twelve ministries, it has received substantial support over the years. She also noted that a raise of 3.1% is incrementally higher than the average 2.3% growth of the central government's annual expenditures.
In thanking the premier and many others for investing in Taiwan's cultural potential, the Culture Minister concluded that "culture is a nation's silent strength and every seed that is sown now will one day become a flowering tree.”
