The 2014 Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF), one of the top professional platforms in Asia for documentaries, will accept entries from today until May 30, 2014.
The competition is organized into three categories — International Filmmakers, Taiwanese Filmmakers, and the Asian Vision, with the latter established to encourage documentaries that offer a unique perspective on Asia.
The documentary festival will also offer special awards for the best Chinese-language documentary and the audience's favorite entry, as well as those that provide the best point of view and the best representation of the next generation.
Now entering its 9th year, the TIDF will he held in Taipei from Oct. 9 through 19; more than 250 international and Taiwanese productions are expected to be screened, and a total of NT$2.5 million (US$84,000) will be handed out in awards and prizes this year.
All documentaries that were completed after July 1, 2012 are welcomed as submissions. Please note that an Asian premiere is required, except for Taiwanese productions and Asian films that have already been screened in their production countries.
All submissions must be made through the TIDF's online entry system. For more information on the entry regulations and how to apply, please visit the event website here or e-mail the festival organizers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
