The 2019 Taipei International Book Exhibition is now open for registration.
Organized by the Taipei Book Fair Foundation with support from the Ministry of Culture, TIBE is one of the oldest and most-established book fairs in Asia. It boosted publishing and cultural exchanges last year with a total of 530,000 visitors and 684 publishers from 60 nations.
The expo also hosts a daily average of 200 events, ranging from copyright trade and cultural events organized by participating countries, to comics and digital pavilions that combine original content with augmented and virtual reality technology to create an interactive experience for readers.
Next year, the expo will feature Germany as its theme country. Director-General Martin Eherts of the German Institute Taipei praised the high quality of the annual book fair and as well as the active participation of Taiwanese readers, and invites everyone to experience the culture and literary spirit of Germany.
TIBE 2019 will be held from Feb. 12 through 17 in Taipei. A step-by-step registration guide is available here and all questions can be directed to international@taipeibookfair.org.

In other related news, the Taipei Book Fair Foundation is also offering a "Spanish and Portuguese Publishing Grant Program" to help international publishers translate and publish original titles from Taiwan. Submissions will be accepted through Nov. 20, 2019.
