Taiwan Design Expo 2015 will return to Yilan County on Nov. 21, making its second appearance at the northeastern coast since 2004.
Launched in 2003, the previous editions of the exhibition had visited Taipei City, Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, and Taichung City to advocate design and promote each host city.
Titled "MAKERS BOOM!” this year, the 2015 exhibition will feature local art, culture, and the creative sector, aiming to market design brands and promote artists based in Yilan. It will also help boost tourism and create more job opportunities.
Located in Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park (中興文創園區), the exhibition will offer six major exhibitions - "Theme Pavilion,” "Yilan Lifestyle Pavilion,” "Trendy Green Dye House,” "AIC -Yilan Maker Space,” "Boom Brand,” and "Tea House.”
The two-week fair will offer products made with local materials, designs by Taiwanese and international artists, workshops, furniture exhibitions, and DIY dye workshops.
Additional events will allow visitors to enjoy Chinese opera, jazz music, percussions, dance performances, Peking opera, and hand puppetry as well as cultural forums and film screenings.
