The latest recipients of "My First Show,” a subsidy program that provides the opportunity for new artists to debut their works, will hold a joint exhibition in Taipei from March 12 to 22, and in Kaohsiung City from March 19 to 22.
The subsidy program has funded 154 projects through past four open calls. It aims to foster artistic talent by giving them their very first "stage” or "show.” Since 2013, the Ministry of Culture has also organized fairs and joint presentations that connect businesses with the art community, recommending emerging artists to enterprises, agents, critics, and curators for more people to know their works.
The March exhibitions will feature a new lineup of literary works, graphic arts, visual arts, music, dance, dramas and operas, as well as audiovisual media art, including paintings, 3D projects, publications, and audiovisual videos, by 64 new artists. The artists will also introduce and share their ideas at talks in Taipei on March 14 and in Kaohsiung on March 21.
