The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung will be offering a series of Lunar New Year events to addsome fun to the upcoming holidays.
The "Joyful Goats Greet Spring” festival will featurea print exhibition that displays print art about the Year of the Goat. Visitors can take part in kinetic interactive games and vie for opportunities for silkscreen-printing DIY activities. Those who enjoy traditional print-making can join in wood-engraving sessions to create their own prints.
Opening on the second day of the Chinese New Year, the festival includes an open-air market, where organic products and creative products will be available. Lottery poems with drawings of goats are also provided for visitors to draw lots and learn about their luck in the upcoming new year.
In addition to the special exhibition on the New Year goat prints, several other exhibitions are also open after Feb. 19, including the Marie Laurencin exhibition, the Chen Hui-tung Solo Exhibition, and another featuring local artists' works between 1971 and 1980. For children and parents, the museum also has several fun events related to children's books.
The museum is closed on Feb. 18 and 19. Admission to all areas of the museum except for the Laurencin exhibition will be free.
