"Images of Time” held at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts will offer 52 paintings by Taiwanese artist Sun Ying-lun (孫英倫) from Dec. 20 through March 1, encompassing a medley of subject matters that include landscapes, flowers and birds, and people.
Sun, a 1979 alumnus of the Fu-Hsin Trade and Art School, has been on the receiving end of such accolades as the R.O.C. Armed Forces Golden Statues Awards — bronze in watercolors and gold for oil paint — and the Army Art Exhibition's Gold Lion Award for watercolors.
The artist mainly explores the concept of time and the intrinsic nature of art. Incorporating traditional Chinese ink painting techniques with classic watercolor templates, Sun merges realistic images with liberal splashes of color to create one-of-a-kind paintings offering a different insight to art.
The highlights of Sun's 35-year career will remain on display for three months at the Taichung-based fine arts museum.
