Art Taipei, one of the most experienced and professional platforms for trading Chinese and Asian artworks, will return with an even more ambitious program on Oct. 31.
Established in 1992 as the Taipei Art Fair International, the annual trade fair enjoys patronage by art collectors from North America, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as neighboring Asian nations.
As a yearly platform attended by hundreds of gallery representatives and artists, Art Taipei offers four main booth sections — classic artworks, art galleries, new media, and young artists.
The 2014 Art Taipei Forum (formerly known as the Asian Art Economy Forum in Taipei) will also be held alongside the art fair onOct. 1 andNov. 1.
Organized by research body TAERCentre, the two-day forum will outline disaster-coping strategies for the art industry in face of climate change, including recovery plans from weather extremities like typhoons and hurricanes, and restoration and conservation guidelines for damaged artworks.
Other fringe events include a string of academic forums discussing the classic themes and latest trends in Asian art, and a showcase of Taiwan's performing arts. Please visit the event website at http://art-taipei.com for further information.
