Address:Alley 470 Yingtsai Road, Taichung City, Taiwan
A string of fashion shows and an exhibition on cultural and creative products inspired by the unique vibrancy of Taichung City will run for ten days in central Taiwan starting on Sept. 13.
Curated by Leslie Chen (陳永基), a Red Dot-winning colorblind visual designer from Hong Kong, the exhibition is called "A Good Touch” to reflect the sentiments that inspire design, as well as the materials used to create good design.
The first half of the exhibition will focus on famous designers from the Chinese-speaking world who've made a name for themselves in the international arena. The lineup includes Vera Wang (王薇薇), the bridal wear extraordinaire, and Olivier Green (吳秉叡), the first Taiwanese designer to compete on Project Runway.
The exhibition will also showcase products crafted by prominent Taiwanese individuals working outside of the fashion industry, including product designer Chou Yu-jui (周育潤), illustrator Page Tsou (鄒駿昇), quality engineer Yi Wei-shen (易瑋勝), and esteemed architect Joshua Pan (潘冀).
The events will take place at the Calligraphy Greenway, a 3.6-kilometer-long greenbelt that traverses through some of Taichung City's most prominent arts and cultural landmarks. More information can be found at www.2014creativetaichung.com.tw.
