Address:No. 12 Songshou Road, Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan
As part of the first-ever Golden Melody Global Music Festival, Taiwanese Mando-pop king Jay Chou (周杰倫) will share his creative process in music with members of the public in Taipei on June 24.
The Global Music Festival will be held for the first time this year, timed to celebrate and promote the 25th anniversary of the longstanding Golden Melody Awards. Chou's music forum is part of a lecture series that is aimed at promoting musical education at the grassroots level.
Chou, the recipient of 15 Golden Melody Awards in his 14-year career, is also serving as a celebrity spokesperson for the awards.
The June 24 lecture will take place at ATT Show Box in Taipei's Xinyi District, and 800 slots are available. However, only high school, college, or graduate school music majors, or students who have participated in music-related student clubs, are eligible to register.
Chou said it will be the first time he has participated in an event of this kind and he expressed hope that he will be able to contribute to the pop music scene in Taiwan and be of help to students interested in making their own music.
