Address:No. 122 Chongqing South Road Section 1, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan
To help present the development and history of Taiwanese craftsmanship, the Presidential Office will host a special four-month art exhibition from Feb. 8 through June 30.
Now in its 15th year, the exhibition features pottery pieces by ceramic artist Tsai Jung-yu (蔡榮祐), winner of Taiwan's 2011 National Craft Achievement Award, and lacquerware works from crafts master Huang Li-shu (黃麗淑).
In addition, some 70 artworks provided by folklore collector Liang Chih-chung (梁志忠), including ceramics, lacquerware, wood sculptures, and bamboo carvings, will also be on display at the annual event jointly organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute and the Presidential Office.
Tsai, one of Taiwan's leading modern ceramic artists, is renowned for creating pottery pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and delightfully functional.
Huang, who specializes in bamboo weaving and fine arts, currently operates a workshop and training facility for the purpose of cultural preservation and arts education.
