'Night at the Museum'

Address:No. 2, Section 1, Wǔquán West Rd, Xi District, Taichung City, Taiwan 403

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung City will extend its opening hours to 8 P.M. on Sept. 19 to allow more visitors to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and experience a night visit to the museum.

To start with, the museum will roll out several family-oriented events in the daytime. In the afternoon, the Listen to Me theater will stage "Banana Boat on Moon Lake,” a production in which performers use voices and body language to act out the story in a smooth and lively manner.

From Sept. 17 to 29, the museum will also organize children's DIY sessions, giving them the opportunity to create art through a combination of games, hands-on activities related to the festival's origins, legends and artwork related to the moon.

On the night of the festival, the museum has invited the group known as "Mosquito Music” to perform jazz music. The ensemble is known for its fusion of Western and Oriental musical styles, featuring a combination of modern Western and traditional Chinese musical instruments.

As part of the festival celebrations, the museum is also inviting people to upload their photos taken with the moon as backdrop, along with their thoughts related to the Mid-Autumn Festival, to the museum's Facebook page.
